Butter Biscuits (ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಬಿಸ್ಕಿಟ್)
Classic melt-in-the-mouth butter biscuits made with just four simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- Butter (at room temperature) – 1 cup
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup (about ¾ cup regular sugar makes 1 cup powdered)
- Elachi (cardamom) – 4–5 pods
- Maida (all-purpose flour) – 2½ to 3 cups
Instructions
- Grind the sugar and elachi together in a mixie jar into a fine powder.
- Beat the butter until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the powdered sugar little by little, continuing to beat well.
- Add the maida flour gradually and bring together into a smooth dough.
- Make small balls from the dough, flatten slightly, and place them on a greased baking tray.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the biscuits for 20–25 minutes.
- Once done, remove from the oven and allow to cool for some time before handling.
- Store in an airtight jar.
Tips
- Beat the butter and sugar very well before adding the flour — this is key to a smooth dough.
- Add the maida gradually and stop as soon as the dough feels smooth, similar to chapathi dough — too much flour can make the biscuits hard.
- If your dough feels too stiff or the biscuits turned out hard before, try using slightly less maida next time.
can u pls tell me how to do smooth dough i tryd this biscuit but it became hard
ReplyDeleteYou need to beat the butter and sugar very well. Then, add the flour little by little. Prepare a smooth dough like Chapathi dough..just stop adding the maida when you feel that the dough is smooth and you can make balls out of it.
ReplyDeleteI hope biscuits will turn out well next time :)
Try adding little less maida than last time..it should work fine.
